Two Georgia Prices From One Vendor

Where ZenBusiness Genuinely Leads

The console. Among the national filing companies, ZenBusiness has built the dashboard owners actually enjoy returning to: formation records, state correspondence, filing status and compliance prompts gathered onto one screen that behaves like software rather than a queue of forms. If your plan is to administer the whole company from a single login, keeping the agent appointment inside that login is a coherent reason to pay more for it. That preference is not a mistake and we are not going to pretend it is one.

The Opening Term, and the Term That Repeats

Purchased separately, with no formation order attached, ZenBusiness sets the opening term of standalone registered agent coverage at $99 plus state fees. From there the rate becomes $199 a year.

Both numbers are accurate. They describe different stretches of the calendar, and Georgia's requirement runs on the longer one. An entity sitting on the Corporations Division register has to keep an agent appointed for as long as it stays active, so $199 is the figure that governs the relationship while $99 governs only its first twelve months.

That trailing "plus state fees" deserves a look as well. Whatever the order sends to the Corporations Division gets billed above the advertised figure, so the price you read and the amount your card clears will not necessarily match.

The five-year spread is four hundred dollars. What sits behind both columns is one line on one state record, worded identically either way.

What the Georgia Column Actually Is

Ninety-nine dollars, and the notice that arrives twelve months later also reads ninety-nine dollars. No step-up is scheduled because no introductory rate exists to step up from. Service of process delivered to our Georgia office is scanned and emailed to you before that business day ends. The Georgia street address printed on your public filings is ours, which keeps yours off them. There is one optional charge and we state it in advance rather than spring it later: $15 an item, should you want routine business mail handled the same way.

Moving the Appointment Off ZenBusiness in Georgia

Georgia never created a dedicated change-of-agent filing, which catches out owners who go looking for one. The Corporations Division updates the agent of record through a filing already on your calendar, or through an amendment to it.

The first route is the annual registration, $60 all in, which the state assembles from a $50 statutory fee plus a $10 service charge. O.C.G.A. § 14-11-1103 places that filing between January 1 and April 1 for every Georgia LLC, and a change that can wait for the window rides along at no extra cost. One catch worth knowing: Georgia's One Click renewal tool accepts only filings in which nothing on the record changes, so the year you replace an agent you sign in to eCorp and complete the full version of the form instead.

The other route is the amendment. Form CD 920 carries a $30 fee and is accepted in any month of the year, which is what you need when the spring window has shut or this year's registration has already gone in.

Sequence is what keeps this clean. Engage the replacement, submit the filing, wait for the state record to flip, and close the ZenBusiness plan last. Reversing that order leaves your entity listed with an agent who no longer works for you, and a summons does not pause while paperwork catches up.
