LegalZoom is the consumer legal brand a banker, a landlord, or an accountant will already know by name, which removes a small amount of friction from a surprising number of conversations. Two decades of operating history sit behind it, along with a catalogue of services stretching well past the registered agent appointment. An owner who wants the recognizable option and is content to pay for it has not made an error in judgment.

$249 a Year, and It Renews Without Asking

LegalZoom holds Georgia registered agent service at $249 annually. Our July 2026 review turned up no first-year discount on that figure, which is unusual in a category built on teaser rates, and the honest reading is that the price is at least stable. It also auto-renews.

Auto-renewal is the part that deserves a moment. A subscription that renews itself is convenient in exactly the way it is expensive: it survives inattention. Nobody has to sign off, nobody has to reconsider the value, and the charge simply reappears. Over the life of a company that mechanism is worth more to the vendor than any single price decision.

Run it out five years. LegalZoom collects $1,245. We collect $495. The gap is $750, and neither column buys a different legal outcome, because the Corporations Division record shows one appointed agent either way.

The Same Appointment, Priced at $99

Our rate is $99 and it is $99 again next year, on the same terms, with no tier above it waiting to be sold into. Anything a process server hands to our Georgia office is scanned and sent to you the same working day. The public record carries our Georgia street address in place of your home or shop. The single add-on is disclosed before you buy: $15 an item if you want routine business mail scanned as well.

For accuracy on the price question: $99 is not the lowest published number in this state. BetterLegal advertises $90 a year. Ours belongs among the lowest flat annual rates in Georgia, which is a narrower claim than cheapest and one we can actually stand behind.

Switching From LegalZoom to a Georgia Agent of Record

Georgia handles this without a purpose-built form. Between filing seasons the vehicle is Form CD 920, the amended annual registration, which the state prices at $30, built from a $20 base and the $10 service charge. It goes to the Corporations Division, filed online through eCorp or submitted on paper.

The paperwork is lighter than owners expect. What Georgia wants on the yearly filing is who holds the agent role and where the principal office sits; members and managers never appear on it, so nothing about ownership has to be gathered before one line can change. If your LLC is registered here from another state, O.C.G.A. § 14-11-703 is the section to know: the Georgia agent requirement runs for as long as your certificate of authority does, so the appointment cannot lapse simply because your headquarters is elsewhere.

Which brings up the timing point that auto-renewal makes specific. Do not cancel LegalZoom the day you decide to leave. Appoint us, file, confirm the state record shows the change, and let the remaining LegalZoom days expire on their own schedule. A few weeks of overlap costs you nothing you have not already paid for; a few weeks with no agent on the record is a genuine exposure, and it is the easiest one on this page to avoid entirely.
